How Do I Register (A) To register click on the register link(s) found on both the header and footer navigation sections Q) I'm under 18 and can't signup; why? (A) In accordance with standard US law(s), all persons under 18 cannot participate in most auctions, online or offline, as the buying and selling disclaimers and contracts are, technically, legally binding contracts. Bid4Jax will more than welcome you after you turn of age . (Q) How can I list an item for sale? (A) You must first be a registered member. Once you have registered simply login to your account and click on the Sell link. The first thing to do is select a general category for your item, note that you can choose a more specific category further into the listing process. You can then enter in your chosen settings and item description
(Q) Where do I set up my PayPal information for buying/selling? (A) It's all to the left, toward the bottom, under My Account. You must set up your registered PayPal address there before you can pay/accept pay with PayPal.
(Q) How can I keep track of items I'm selling? (A) You can keep an eye on everything you are selling by visiting your members area and selecting the selling page. (Q) Can I use HTML when listing an item? (A) Yes you can, however we recomend you use basic tags (or WYSIWYG) as complex HTML descriptions may not display correctly. (Q) How can I place a bid? (A) To place a bid on an item you must first register and/or login to your account. Once logged in, a bidding box will be displayed at bottom of all auction pages. You can use this box to place your chosen bid(s). (Q) How can I keep track of items I'm bidding on? (A) You can keep an eye on everything you are bidding on by visiting your members area and selecting the bidding page.
(Q) How do I know if I am outbid on an item? (A) Our auction system will automatically notify you via email if you are outbid. (Q) Why are PayPal payments not automatically showing up after the auction? (A) Since this site has many options enabled for local vendors to accept local payments, shipping(s), and pickups, you have to set your auction to accept PayPal as a form of payment to fully automate your auctions. To do this, check the PayPal Direct Payment Settings option when you are making your auction and enable Click to accept Direct Payment for this Item. You then must enter your PayPal registered email address. When you do this, you will be able to accept payment through the site automatically via PayPal. (Q) Why are PayPal payments not automatically showing up after clicking Buy Out? (A) See above.
(Q) How can I mark an item as paid or shipped if I didn't automatically enable PayPal payments? (A) You would then have to go to MEMBERS, then ITEMS I'VE SOLD, and then change it manually from there. (Q) How can I mark the status of an item after payment has been received? (A) Again, you would then have to go to MEMBERS, then ITEMS I'VE SOLD, and then change it manually from there. You can mark it Paid, Unpaid, and then Shipped, Not Shipped, Problem, etc. (Q) When I go to set up items in my store, it takes me to the auction setup page; why? (A) It's almost the same setup, however, there's a few different settings that are specific to your store. This is done so you can also set up items for auction and your store at the same time. (Q) Why isn't PayPal automatically accepting payments for items sold in my store? (A) Since this site has many options enabled for local vendors to accept local payments, shipping(s), and pickups, you have to set your auction to accept PayPal as a form of payment to fully automate your auctions. To do this, check the PayPal Direct Payment Settings option when you are making your auction/store and enable Click to accept Direct Payment for this Item. You then must enter your PayPal registered email address. When you do this, you will be able to accept payment through the site automatically via PayPal. (Q) Is there a way to have my auction variables automatically filled in? (A) Sure; you can just go to Selling and then to Set Up PreFilled Auction Fields which is to your middle, upper, left. From there you can set up your PayPal address, Automatic PayPal Payments, shipping information, and Auction Durations. Remember; to be paid AUTOMATICALLY via PayPal after an auction/sale you MUST enter your PayPal address and enable Click to accept Direct Payment for this Item in the PayPal Direct Payment Settings (which is ABOVE where you put in your PayPal information). (Q) I can't find a category that absolutely fits my item(s), what can I do? (A) You can always Suggest A Category from your Selling screen. In the meantime, just try and find the closest fit. Categories just help organize the site, however, your auction will list almost the same either way, however, on a side note, really only people that are merely browsing categories may have difficulty finding your specific listing, which is generally a smaller audience overall. If nothing else, just select Other or Anything Else in whichever major category/categories you have decided to choose.
(Q) What can I do if there's a problem with my order? (A) Please contact the vendor with any such issues. All efforts should be allowed on the part of the vendor to resolve any issues at hand. We ask that you allow a reasonable amount of time, effort, and contact(s) to resolve such disputes, however, if there's a need for escalation, please feel free to contact us and we will try and help as much as we possibly can. PLEASE, ALWAYS READ THE SELLERS SHIPPING AND OTHER MISC NOTES!
(Q) What can I do if there is a problem I cannot resolve with the seller/buyer? (A) While we cannot be held accountable for a seller's (or buyer') behavior(s), we can and will try to help as much as we possibly can (imposing penalties, fines, temporary bannings, etc, for wrong-doings). Please contact us with any such questions or issues at Admin@Bid4Jax.com. (Q) Can I list and sell items here and on other auction sites or in my store? (A) Yes, you may, however, if you are selling things "live", like, say, on an auto lot, and also online, or if they are being sold within 2 or more auctions, you MUST state so in your auction. A simple "This item is being sold (however/wherever else it's being offered for sale) ..... so we reserve the right to close this auction at any time." would be sufficient. We understand that items sold via other venues sell all the time and you never know when; just be honest up front and you should be ok in most cases.
(Q) How can I advertise with you? (A) We currently have banner advertising enabled sitewide. The concept is simple; pay for X amount of showings of your banner, or pay X amount per click (each time a person clicks your banner). You also have the option of having a banner set up to be within a specific category or categories, or sitewide (front page and all categories). The pricing is as follows; Per showing:Single, selected category (up to 6 full categories)- $.01 per showing Sitewide - $.02 Per click-thru:
Single, selected category (up to 6 full categories)- $.03 per click-thru Sitewide - $.04 These are set up based on a separate account from the advertising department for Bid4Jax.com and do not reflect the normal site fees.
